English actor and director Adam Deacon is returning to filmmaking with British urban action comedy titled Sumotherhood which is now about to start production in London. Ed Sheeran, whose growing acting stints have included Game of Thrones and Yesterday, has been added to the cast alongside Danny Sapani of Black Panther, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, Peter Serafinowicz of The Tick, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s Leomie Anderson, London Hughes, Kevin Bishop, Kidulthood star Jaime Winstone, Vas Blackwood and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith (a Lawrence Olivier award best actor winner for Tina Turner The Musical).

They join the already announced cast of Deacon, Jazzie Zonzolo, Richie Campbell and comedian Eddie Kadi, while there are expected to be various additional cameos from the world of acting, comedy and music, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Alongside the on-screen talent, Sumotherhood has also secured the services of Simon Stolland of Blue Story as cinematographer. Written by Deacon, Zonzolo and Michael Vu, the film marks actor-writer-director Deacon’s comeback to filmmaking after several years away from the industry, and over a decade since his 2011 directorial debut Anuvahood (on which he collaborated with Vu).

Sumotherhood — which will shoot in Hackney and East London through February and March — is produced by BIFA-nominated producer Finn Bruce. BAFTA Breakthrough casting director Heather Basten has cast the film alongside Bishop, Deacon and the producing team.

This season too registered some great friendship to its name with Rajiv Adatia, Rashami Desai and Umar Riaz's trio. The trio recently reunited after the show and shared the pictures on Instagram.

In their latest Instagram posts, the trio shared a happy and quirky selfie as they got together outside the Bigg Boss house for the first time after the season’s end. The A-list projects are gathering ahead of the virtual European Film Market. The upcoming sci-fi film Morning will see Justin Kurzel in the director’s seat with big name actors attached to star. This latest big-league film will see Oscar and BAFTA winner Big Little Lies actress Laura Dern and Noah Jupe. Oscar nominee, BAFTA winner and The Power of the Dog star Benedict Cumberbatch will also star in a supporting role, while he also executive produces alongside Dern.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morning is set in a near future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is finally no end to morning daylight, living and work. But as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, is it time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams?

Morning was written by Manchester-born writer Sam Steiner whose screenplay was picked up by Cumberbatch and Adam Ackland’s SunnyMarch. SunnyMarch’s head of film, Leah Clarke, is producing alongside Ackland. Cumberbatch will executive produce alongside Dern and Jayme Lemons. The film will reunite Kurzel with several of his previous collaborators including Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Adam Arkapaw and BAFTA Award nominated costume designer Alice Babidge.

Justin Kurzel’s most recent feature film Nitram was nominated for the Palme d’Or and lead actor Caleb Landry Jones won the Best Actor award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. In addition to Morning, Steiner’s current projects include horror film Banquet, to be directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia.

An unnamed woman has come forward and alleged singer Chris Brown of drugging and sexually assaulting her in Miami in December 2020. The 32-year-old 'Go Crazy' singer is being sued for $20 million, according to court documents filed in a Los Angeles County Court Thursday.

The accuser, who is identified as "Jane Doe," is a professional dancer, model, musical artist, and choreographer, according to the complaint. According to the People outlet, in the lawsuit, Doe alleges that while in Miami on December 30, 2020, she was FaceTiming with a male friend who was on a yacht docked at Sean "Diddy" Combs' estate. Brown allegedly took the friend's phone and told Doe "he had heard about her music and urged her to head over to Diddy's home on Star Island as soon as possible," the court documents state. Once on the yacht, Doe alleged the singer gave her a mixed drink in a red cup. They talked about her musical aspirations and "Brown offered her tips about starting a career in the music industry," according to the documents. He allegedly refilled her drink, and she said she "began to feel a sudden, unexplained change in consciousness," the lawsuit stated, adding that she "felt disoriented, physically unstable, and started to fall in and out of sleep."

The singer then took Doe to a bedroom, closing the door, and blocking her from leaving. According to the documents, he allegedly "threw [Doe] on a bed" and began to kiss her. She "mumbled" for him to stop but he "ignored" her, the complaint alleged. Brown allegedly raped Doe "then jumped up and announced he was 'done.'"

Jane Doe left shortly after with the help of a friend whom she texted. The following day, Brown allegedly contacted Doe to check on her, telling her he was "faded" and didn't recall details of their alleged sexual encounter. The lawsuit claims he "demanded" her to take a "Plan B" to "terminate any possible pregnancy," to which she obliged. In January 2021, she went to his Tarzana, Calif., home after he initiated contact, according to the complaint, and listened to music. The star's producer was present along with another female. Doe allegedly went to his home again in August when he was recording a song. While there, the singer displayed "loud and irate" behaviour when she refused his alleged advance to go to his upstairs bedroom, the lawsuit stated, adding that Brown told her she "'would never make it as an artist' unless she was willing to do what it 'takes.'"

The accuser said in the complaint that she has since "experienced dramatic mood swings, loss of appetite, panic attacks, and engaged in self-harm." She is suing Brown for sexual assault, battery, and rape, violation of the gender violence statute, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Though Chris Brown did not directly address the claims, the singer shared a pointed message on his Instagram story early Friday. "I hope yall see this pattern," he wrote, adding a blue cap emoji, which is slang for lying. "Whenever I'm releasing music or projects, 'THEY' try to pull some real bulls---."

Jane Doe's lawyer, George Vrabeck, says in a statement to People that he and his legal team intends "to hold ALL parties accountable so that we might begin to eradicate this behavior from our society." He added, "Our client deserves justice. The same justice that all victims of sexual abuse deserve."

Salman, who is always in a jolly mood, matched steps with Rakhi Sawant and Rubina Dilaik on the song “Chikni Chameli”. Rakhi Sawant challenged Rubina Dilaik to dance on “Chikni Chameli”. While she was performing, Rakhi asked Salman to join them. As the performance ended, Salman said, “Shaadi mubarak ho, Katrina (Congratulations on your wedding, Katrina).” Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif’s wedding took place on December 9 last year in Rajasthan.

She said it was Salman and also gave details about where the Antim - The Final Truth actor was yesterday and the day before that. “You were in Panvel yesterday and at Galaxy Apartments the day before,” she said, adding, “Kiske saath the woh bhi bataun? After her glorified cameo in S S Rajamouli’s RRR Alia Bhatt seems to have fallen in love with Telugu cinema. The buzz in Hyderabad—and a very strong one at that—is that Alia Bhatt has signed another Telugu film, this time again opposite her RRR co-star NTR Jr.

The untitled film that goes on the floors in February is to be directed by the hitmaker Koratala Siva who earlier directed NTR Jr in the 2016 blockbuster Janatha Garage. This is his second collaboration with NTR Jr. A well-placed source from Hyderabad informs me, “NTR Jr and Alia Bhatt have become friends during RRR. He persuaded her to do the film to be directed by Koratala Siva who’s a friend of NTR Jr.”

Hopefully Ms Bhatt will have more to do this time than she does in RRR. Incidentally she is paired with Ramcharan Teja RRR and not NTR Jr.

While the audience is curious to know who will take home the precious, shining trophy of Bigg Boss 15 tonight, the latest shocking update is that Shamita Shetty has been evicted from the race. The actress was evicted when Deepika Padukone along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday entered the house to announce the Top 3.

With this Shamita's journey comes to an end in the show. The actress had previously participated in Bigg Boss OTT and emerged out as the 2nd runner-up in it. She was firstly a part of Bigg Boss 3 which she left midway due to her sister Shilpa Shetty's wedding. After Shamita's eviction Tejasswi Prakash, Karan Kundrra, and Pratik Sehajpal are the ones remaining for competing for the winning title.

Former winners of Bigg Boss including Gauahar Khan, Shweta Tiwari, Gautam Gulati, Urvashi Dholakia, and Rubina Dilaik graced the stage of the finale and were challenged by Rakhi Sawant and her team. In a promo video from the finale, Rakhi Sawant is seen challenging the winners of the previous seasons. After listening to Rakhi, host Salman Khan said, "Rakhi, don't be so confident, they are winners, you were all eliminated previously".

Rakhi begins with a challenge for Bigg Boss 14 winner Rubina Dilaik and the two are seen performing to ‘Chikni Chameli’. Rakhi also makes Salman perform to the song along with them. Gauahar and Gautam also get challenged to dance-offs and perform their best on stage.

Actor Kajol is the latest celebrity to test positive for COVID-19. On Sunday morning, the actress took to her Instagram handle to announce that she has tested positive. However, she uploaded a solo picture of her daughter Nysa while sharing the information.

Kajol shared a gorgeous and happy picture of her daughter Nysa flaunting her mehendi while giving a wide smile for the camera. Sharing the picture, Kajol wrote, "Tested positive and I really don't want anyone to see my Rudolph nose so let's just stick to the sweetest smile in the world! Miss u @nysadevgan and yes I can see the eye roll!"

Commenting on the picture, Priyanka Chopra Jonas wrote, "She’s stunning" with a heart-eyed emoji.

In the video shared by Sanya, the actress was dressed in casuals- a black top with matching trousers and white sneakers. She introduced her own effortless style as she performed to ‘Oo Antava’. She performed along with choreographer Shazeb Sheikh in the video.

Earlier this month, singer Lata Mangeshkar was hospitalised in Mumbai's Breach Candy after she tested positive for COVID-19. The legendary singer has been in the ICU ever since and according to the regular health updates from her team, she seems to be getting better by the day. According to the latest update, the 92-year-old singer has been showing signs of marginal improvement and has been removed from the ventilator.

A health update of Lata Mangeshkar released on January 27 read, "Lata didi continues to be in the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai under treatment. She has been given a TRIAL of extubation (off the invasive Ventilator) this morning. Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of you for your prayers and good wishes."

A couple of days back it was being reported that the veteran singer's heath was deteriorating. Responding to the same, the spokesperson had clarified, "It is disturbing to see false news being circulated. Please note that Lata didi is stable. Continues to be in ICU under treatment of able doctors. Please pray for her quick return home."

Shah Rukh Khan’s next production Love Hostel to release on Zee5 on February 18 https://bit.ly/32FTQ2q

In December 2021, Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house run by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, released Bob Biswas on the digital platform, Zee5. Starring Abhishek Bachchan and Chitrangda Singh, this Diya Annapurna Ghosh directed thriller got a fine response. And now, the reputed production house is looking forward to releasing their next film, which is also a thriller, titled Love Hostel. Yesterday, reports emerged that like Bob Biswas, Love Hostel would also skip a theatrical release and premiere directly on Zee5.

We have now learnt about the release date of the film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Love Hostel would be released on Zee5 on February 18, 2022. The trailer will be released in the first week of February. It’ll be a compact but effective promotional campaign that the makers plan to embark upon. In the times of new normal, a 2-3 week time period is enough to generate awareness and excitement for the film. And both Red Chillies and Zee5 are confident that their film will build up a lot of hype thanks to the casting and exciting content.”

Love Hostel is directed by Shanker Raman of Gurgaon (2017) fame and stars Vikrant Massey, Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra. The source continued, “Love Hostel releases a week before Sanya Malhotra’s birthday, which falls on February 25. She’s looking forward to celebrating her big day with gusto as by then, the response to the film and her performance would be out.”

In November 2020, Sanya Malhotra had admitted that she was excited to be working in a film produced by the superstar. She had said, “I’m a huge Shah Rukh (Khan) fan and he is producing it. I still can’t believe I’m in an SRK film! I’m so grateful.” Reportedly, she has bagged another Red Chillies film – Atlee’s next that features Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role.

Besides Red Chillies Entertainment, Love Hostel is also co-produced by Manish Mundra’s Drishyam Films. This marks the second collaboration of Shah Rukh Khan and Manish Mundra’s banner after the much appreciated Kaamyaab (2020).

Filmmaker Karan Johar has found his new 'Poo' in actor Kunal Kapoor. The filmmaker took to his Twitter handle to share a new advertisement featuring actors Kunal Kapoor and Chitrangda Singh. In the ad, Kunal is seen wearing a heavy lehenga under his polo T-shirt while playing golf.

In the ad for a hospitality brand, Kunal and Chitrangda are seen talking about golf view rooms and soon we realise that the former lost a bet and had to play golf wearing a  heavy lehenga. Towards the end of the video, Kunal asked a giggling Chitrangda, “Can I change now?” She shrugged and replied, “Looks good on you.”

Complimenting Kunal, Karan Johar said that if he ever remakes Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, he will be cast as the new Poo, a character made famous by Kareena Kapoor Khan.  “If there’s ever a #K3G sequel, just know you’ll be Poo! #LooksGoodOnYou,” he tweeted.

The much awaited Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was finally going to arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2022. Sadly, due to the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, all the films scheduled to release in January were indefinitely postponed. Expecting a domino effect, the trade and industry feared that Gangubai Kathiawadi’s release might be deferred by a few weeks or even months. However, today, the makers of the film pleasantly surprised everyone by announcing that the film would release in February itself, but on February 25. Coincidentally, now, the film would arrive on the big screen a day after Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 59th birthday.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was born on February 24, 1963. Gangubai Kathiawadi is his tenth film and also the second film after Black (2005) to release in his birthday month. Black, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, was not a huge commercial success but received immense critical acclaim, including three National Awards. It now remains to be seen if Gangubai Kathiawadi also turns out to be not just a critical hit but also a huge commercial hit for the acclaimed filmmaker.

In 2015, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had revealed that he doesn’t believe in celebrating birthdays. To quote SLB, “As children, my sister and I had no birthday parties. We would take a packet of sweets to school and distribute it to our classmates. That was it. We never had birthday parties. Nor were we allowed to go to parties. Now, it has become a habit to be on my own on my birthday. And I am very happy that way.”

Nevertheless, last year, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had an intimate gathering on his birthday. The picture of him posing with Alia Bhatt, who looked splendid in a white dress, had gone viral. In 2013, in a rare instance, he cut a cake on his birthday along with the star cast of his TV show, ‘Saraswatichandra’. In 2018, there were reports that the success bash of his blockbuster film, Padmaavat, and his birthday would be celebrated in the ocean in a liner. However, reportedly, the party didn’t happen as Bhansali declined the invitation, citing seasickness.

It now remains to be seen how Sanjay Leela Bhansali shall celebrate his birthday this year. An industry insider said, “It’ll be a busy birthday for sure as it’s held a day before the grand release of his big film. He’ll be making sure the release is happening as per schedule. If a press show of Gangubai Kathiawadi is held on February 24, he’ll also be checking with his team how the media has reacted to his labour of love. Hopefully, once Gangubai Kathiawadi opens well and gets good word of mouth, he can blow the candles on the cake and pop the champagne.”

Gangubai Kathiawadi is adapted from a chapter of S Hussain Zaidi's book, 'Mafia Queens Of Mumbai', and is about a woman who rises to become a powerful underworld figure in Mumbai. Before its worldwide theatrical release on February 25, it’ll have a grand world premiere at the prestigious 72nd Berlin International Film Festival, which will be held between February 10 to February 20, 2022.

American actor and filmmaker Bradley Cooper earned rave reviews for his performance in Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley, but the eight-time Oscar nominee was not necessarily the director’s first choice for the job. It was Leonardo DiCaprio, who del Toro originally cast in the role of Stanton Carlisle, a drifter and con artist who rises from lowly carnival worker to a renowned mentalist.

Speaking to Variety, Bradley Cooper opened up about replacing Leonardo DiCaprio and how not being first choice exposed his own insecurities. “Nightmare Alley was an interesting example of how insecure I am,” Cooper said. “I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I still am the guy that wants to be in the group,’ because I had no intention of acting in anything other than what I’ve been writing. Leonardo DiCaprio fell out, and Guillermo del Toro came to me. I still remember thinking, ‘Oh wow, the guys that don’t hire me, they want to hire me?’ And then it was like, ‘Of course, I have to do it just because I’ve never been allowed into that group.’ It was insecurity and ego.”

Cooper continued, “Thankfully, it wound up being an incredible experience. And that was very interesting to me to play a character, Stanton Carlisle, who has clearly been traumatized as a kid, has no parental foundation, has no foundation for love, intimacy, real connection, and he just is surviving off of a gratification and a desperate need to find out who he is.”

“In this movie, a lot of things happened on the day,” Cooper added. “It felt like Stanton taught Guillermo and I about where this exploration into humanity could go. It was terrifying for both Guillermo and myself because of that; it was really going into the unknowing. The whole movie leads towards the end, where finally someone tells him who he is.”

On the work front, Bradley Cooper appeared in two features in 2021, the coming-of-age comedy drama Licorice Pizza and the psychological thriller Nightmare Alley, both received critical acclaim, and were included in the top 10 films by the American Film Institute Awards, but fared badly at the box office. The latter—an adaption of William Lindsay Gresham's novel of the same name—had Cooper play an ambitious carnival worker, for which he took boxing lessons.

Nightmare Alley premiered at Alice Tully Hall in New York City on December 1, 2021, and was theatrically released on December 17, 2021.
