At a public veiling of a picture of Lataji at the Pandit Dinanath auditorium in Mumbai this week, Asha Bhosle who was present at the venue became emotional. Remembering her Didi, Asha Bhosle said, “Whenever I used to go anywhere I used to take blessings from Didi. She used to tell me not to touch her feet, that her blessings are always with me, whether I seek it or not. ‘Mai, Baba and I are always close to you,’ Didi would say. Now after her departure, whose blessings should I take, whom should I tell my troubles?”

Recalling their childhood struggles Asha Bhosle said, “When we were very young, then Baba left, after Mai's departure, Lata didi took care of us all as a father, and today after her departure we all became orphans. I didn't think that all this would happen so soon, that she could live for some more years.”

Lataji would always scoff at the stories of the rivalry between the two sisters. She once said to me, “Let me make it very clear that we share a very good relationship. There is no stress. Whenever Asha has a show she seeks my blessings first. I have heard her lyric-book has my picture in it. My relationship with none of my siblings is troubled. I fulfil the function of the eldest with all my siblings. I am fortunate to have such siblings.”

Elaborating further on all the gossip surrounding the siblings’ rivalry, Lataji has said, “People say all kinds of things about our relationship. There is no fight between us .At a tender age Asha left home and got married. And she made a big name for herself. I am very proud of her. I rate Asha very highly as an artiste and a singer. She did not become famous for nothing. She can sing every kind of song. Thank God, she did not adopt my style of singing. If she had, we would have become competition for one another. She went on her own path. Yeh man-na padega ki woh bahut badi gayika hai. We are sisters and have always been that. Whenever we meet, we meet with affection. The fights were because of her husband who was against me. Maybe he felt Asha did not get work because of Lata. He stopped her from coming to our house and he stopped us sisters from meeting. But then Asha and I started singing some duets together and would meet with warmth.”

Earlier this year, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas became parents as they welcomed their daughter via surrogacy. The couple made the announcement via Instagram. Ever since their little one came home, the couple has been at their Los Angeles home taking care of their daughter. Recently, Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra revaled that she has not met her granddaughter yet given the concerns around the baby's health and the COVID-19 situation.

During an interaction with ETimes, Madhu Chopra answered a question about Priyanka's daughter. "I haven't seen her. I am here and she is in LA. We do Facetime once in a while. I think she is happy and joyous. This is all I can say for now. But maybe when I go and meet her in the middle of the year, I will be able to answer this better."

Madhu also said that she is waiting and hoping for her granddaughter to come to India. “I am always hoping. Never say never. It's her country, she could come," she added.

Sharing her joy of becoming a grandmother, Madhu said, "It's so joyful! I can't tell you how my heart just goes...I think it's something that I have been waiting for, for a very long time. It has happened now and I cannot conceal my happiness. I don't even remember Priyanka and my son anymore. All I think about is the little one."

While making the announcement of the birth of their child, Priyanka and Nick took to their social media handle and wrote, "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate. We respectfully ask for privacy during these special times as we focus on our family. Thank you so much." While the couple did not reveal the gender of the child, Priyanka's cousin Meera Chopra had confirmed that they had a baby girl.

The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri has been the talk of the town over the past month, because of its exceptional run at the box office. Several celebrities and politicians have also praised the film. Abhishek Bachchan has become the latest celebrity to praise the recent release. During a recent interview he said that even though he is yet to watch the film, the film's performance at the box office proves that it is a good film. Vivek Agnihotri took to his Twitter handle to share the clip where Abhishek is seen praising the film.

Abhishek praised the film during one of his promotional interviews for his upcoming film Dasvi. Speaking to Times Now Navbharat, Abhishek responded to a question on politics and films and said, "You were talking about The Kashmir Files. The genesis of it is what- we have been discussing that for two-three days. Whatever you say, you want to politicise it, you want to communalise it, that is your freedom of speech and opinion. But if the film wasn't good, it wouldn't have worked. There is no other reason why it's working. You can take out a lot of other meanings and ripple effects. The foundation is that it has to be a good film."

“Again, it's not my place to say because I haven't seen the film. But I've not met anybody who said it's a bad film. That is the only truth of cinema. If a film does good business, it has to be a good film," he added.

The Kashmir Files narrates the story of the exodus of the Kashmiri Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Pallavi Joshi, among others.  The film that was released on March 11 has grossed over Rs. 250 crore and is one of the biggest hits of recent times.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan will next be seen in the film Dasvi which revolves around Ganga Ram Chaudhary, an "anpadh, corrupt and dil se desi" politician who finds a new challenge in prison: education. The film which also stars Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur will be released on Netflix on April 7.

Actor Vidhatri Bandhi has convinced everyone with her performance in Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah starrer Jalsa that she hails from Kerala. After her performance as trainee journalist Rohini George who is unknowingly on a mission to uncover the secret of her boss, her Instagram DMs are flooded with queries on where in Kerala does she belong. In an industry, where creators are often criticized for the wrong portrayal of South Indians, audiences assumed Vidhatri to be hailing from Kerala because of the precision she brought to the role. “There are two different responses I'm getting- one goes, like, "Oh my god, I can't believe that you're the same girl who was in Shiddat". And the other half is like, "Where are you from in Kerala?" Both the responses make me really happy because people can't recognize me from Shiddat and that means I have done a good enough job,” says Vidhatri in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Hungama.

Vidhatri was last seen in the film Shiddat, where she essayed the role of Sheena, Radhika Madan’s character’s best friend. With her limited role in the film, Vidhatri managed to stand out with her striking presence. “This is really funny, to be very honest, when Shiddat had come I was getting messages from all of these 18-year-olds and 19-year-olds sending me creepy messages like "What a hottie" and this and that. Here, I am getting messages from 45-year-olds and 50-year-old uncles, who genuinely appreciate my work. They are addressing me as amma, beta, and my heart is so full. These uncles and aunts, who are reaching out to me and messaging me are genuinely appreciating the work,” she said while talking about the change in reaction she has observed from the audience.

Talking about landing the role in Jalsa, Vidhatri said that for the longest time she wasn’t associated with any agency and would contact different casting agents to check if there is anything suitable for her. “Eventually, I got in touch with Casting Bay and I spoke to one of the casting associates and he told me that there is this project going on, but not to have too many expectations because someone has already been shortlisted for this role. I told him I still want to audition. He briefed me and I gave the audition,” she shared. After months of back and forth with accent and no accent auditions, Vidhatri finally bagged the role.

Talking further about working on the accent, Vidhatri shared, “Suresh (Triveni) sir would have a lot of rehearsal sessions with me. He would ask me to listen to the way he was talking. And he would ask me to record the conversations that him and I would have. Every time I would go to rehearsals, he would read the dialogue and the scene out for me, and I would record. I would keep listening to it. I also watched a lot of Malayalam films and understand how people would talk." Vidhatri also shared that they did not have any dialect coach on board though it was considered at one point. "Suresh sir really trained me very, very well. We had a couple of rehearsal sessions, training sessions, and my recordings, and like, all of this really helped," she added.

Vidhatri has several scenes with Vidya Balan in the film. While her character is always intimated yet in awe of Vidya's character, during rehearsals, Vidhatri revealed that she was nervous around Vidya. "During rehearsals, I was only nervous. I was fumbling, I was messing my lines up because I was just so intimidated. But the rehearsals really helped there. Because when we went to shoot, it was much easier. I was only focused on delivering the emotion," she said.

"She's such a giving person. It's amazing. I was in awe of that actually more than with Vidya Balan- the actor. I was in awe of her as a person. She's just a phenomenal person. So like it was amazing to work with her on set," she added.

Vidhatri wanted to become an actor from the age of 7. She started off her journey in the industry as an Assistant Director to understand how sets function and slowly made her way in front of the camera. "It's just that I was never confident because I thought that I don't have the body or the personality. Back then it was all about good looks. But now, things have changed. They're looking for actors and performers. And that change happened in the past four or five years. But when I was working as an AD, I remember, a lot of casting people would just tell me to lose weight. A lot of them. The first thing they would look at me and say lose weight. And I thought that is the start and end of it, but of course, it changed later. Now, I'm very happy, you know, to be a part of this industry," Vidhatri shared.

After her notable performance in Shiddat, Vidharti was offered similar roles, but she was clear on not getting stereotyped and waited for the right part to come her way. "After Shiddat, I was desperately waiting to do something different. Because I repeatedly got a lot of hot girl parts after Shiddat and I said no to all of them because sometimes we tend to get categorized when we do something. I didn’t want to again play the same thing. So I was waiting for a really long time for an interesting part," she said.

Talking further about what particularly attracted her to the story of Jalsa, she said, “What I really loved when I was even reading the script, I noticed that every character was given importance. It's so well written and I loved how till the end or midway you do not know who is asking for the money and it bothered me. When I was reading, I'm like, when is this going to come and when will I know who's asking for money? I specifically had these emotions when I was reading the script. I was like, ‘wow! If this is made into a movie like, people watching it will also have the same emotions”.

So, does Vidhatri consider Jalsa to be a game-changer in her career? “I have been getting a lot of auditions, yes. I've been getting a lot of calls and auditions from different directors. And that's been really overwhelming in a way. I will only know in like maybe the next few months if it` really was a game-changer. Earlier, I wasn't associated with any agency. Initially, I was going to agencies and now agencies are coming to me. So, in a way, I feel like it has changed things. But I  need to do a lot more work for me to call something a game-changer,” she concluded.

The actor spoke to NDTV too and said, “I won’t give out a date during a media interaction. But Alia and I have all the intentions of getting married soon, so yes, hopefully soon.”

While Mahesh Bhatt told a tabloid that these are all rumours which have been going around for a while.

Ranbir Kapoor, while speaking to Film Companion recently, said, “I don’t know when I’m going to get married. We haven’t really decided on a date. But that’s definitely on the cards. We’ve not printed those cards yet, but it is on the cards!”

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt recently wrapped their film Brahmastra after five years of shooting. The film is scheduled for September 9, 2022 release.

Vijay Deverakonda and director Puri Jagannadh are reuniting for another project JGM which was announced on Tuesday at an exhilarating event in Mumbai. At the press conference, when asked about working with Tyson on Liger, he said,
"It was a great experience to work with him. I got beaten by him, which shook my head. But, it gave me confidence. It was fun. I cannot reveal more, but it's a memory for life."

“These are the ones you go anywhere, people will know them,” added Vijay. He further said that he got to “eat with Mike and chat with him.”

Talking about Liger, Vijay said, "I am very grateful to Karan Johar for giving me this opportunity. He can thank me after the film releases because we will give him a blockbuster. I want this film to be huge as Karan has taken a terrific decision, and I want him to be happy with his decision."

BTS' Jungkook tests positive for COVID-19 upon arriving in Las Vegas for Grammys 2022, under self-quarantine https://ift.tt/wbNHxm6

South Korean juggernaut BTS' member Jungkook has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The announcement was made on March 29, 2022 following which the musician has been getting treated and is under self-quarantine in the US. The musician arrived in Las Vegas this past weekend for Grammys 2022.

BIG HIT Music, on Tuesday, took their social media platform Weverse to release the statement that read, "Jung Kook was tested negative on a PCR test in Korea, and he departed for the United States on Sunday, March 27 (KST) in preparation for the Grammy Awards performance.  After arriving in Las Vegas, he felt a slight discomfort in his throat and promptly took a rapid PCR test (COVID-19 molecular PCR test) and a standard PCR test (COVID-19 quantitative PCR test) on the afternoon of Sunday, March 27 (PT). While being under self-quarantine as a proactive measure, the result of both tests came back positive, and Jung Kook was confirmed with COVID-19 on Monday, March 28 (PT)."

"Jung Kook has been currently under self-quarantine and treatment, following the guidelines of health authorities in the United States. He is not exhibiting any symptoms other than a mild sore throat, and we will attentively monitor his health during the quarantine. Jung Kook's participation in the later schedule in the United States will be determined by the local regulations on COVID-19, while we are actively in discussion with the awards organizer," it further read.

"We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to our fans for causing you concern despite our effort to take all necessary measures for our artists’ health prior to and throughout the schedule in the United States. We ask for your generous understanding and support from all our fans. We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of Jung Kook, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists. We will also continue to fully cooperate with the requests and guidelines of healthcare authorities," the statement concluded.

Jungkook becomes the seventh member to contract COVID-19 following SUGA, RM, Jin, Jimin, V, and J-Hope.

BTS are set to attend Grammys 2022 as nominees and performers. This marks the second year in a row that BTS, the first Korean pop act to be nominated and perform at the GRAMMYs, are considered for an award, and presenting a solo performance on the stage. Last year, the GRAMMY nominees staged a dazzling performance of their smash hit “Dynamite,” taking their dynamic gig from the GRAMMY stage to a rooftop overseeing a breathtaking night view of Seoul.

Brahmastra co-stars and real-life pair, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, kicked off the last schedule of their sci-fi flick in Varanasi earlier this month. After shooting at the ghats of Ganga river and wrapping up what seemed like a song sequence, the makers have officially announced the wrap.

Titled Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, Dharma Productions on Tuesday took to social media to share two photos after wrapping the film. In the photos, Alia, Ranbir, and Ayan were seen dressed in casuals and visiting a temple. Another photo was from the shoot at the Ganga river on a boat.

Hollywood actor Ezra Miller, who stars as DC superhero The Flash in the movie universe, has been arrested in Vermont for disorderly conduct & harassment. Hawaii County police arrested and charged the actor after he made a scene at a karaoke bar.

According to a report in Hawaii News Now, Police said, "The arrest stemmed from an incident at a karaoke bar along Silva Street Sunday. Miller was allegedly yelling obscenities and he became agitated when people began singing karaoke. At one point, police say he grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman who was mid-song, and he later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts."

This led to disorderly conduct and harassment offense. The bar owner had asked Ezra Miller to calm down several times, as per cops. He was arrested and charged with total bail set at $500. The actor was released post receiving bail.

Ezra Miller has been currently shooting for the standalone The Flash movie which will release on June 23, 2023.

In one of the most shocking turns of events on stage, comedian-actor Chris Rock was left stunned at the 2022 Academy Awards after Will Smith came on onstage and slapped the comedian across the face. The incident occurred after Rock, who was introducing the award for Best Documentary, poked fun at Jada Pinkett Smith about her hairdo. For unversed, Pinkett is suffering from auto-immune disease alopecia which results in hair loss.

Rock said, "Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see ya." While Smith laughed from his seat at first. Pinkett Smith was unamused and eye-rolled at the joke. Then, Smith took the stage and smacked Rock. "Oh wow," said Rock. "Will Smith just smacked the s--- out of me."

"Keep my wife's name out your f---ing mouth!" Will Smith, seemingly angry yelled back at Rock from his seat. "Wow, dude, it was a G.I. Jane joke," said Rock, to which Smith repeated again, "Keep my wife's name out your f---ing mouth!"

"I'm going to, okay?" Rock replied, before moving on, "That was the ... greatest night in the history of television" and continued to present the award.

Will Smith, later in the night, won the Best Actor award for King Richard. Taking stage, he was overwhelmed. In the tear-filled speech, he said, "In this time in my life, in this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world. ... I'm being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people."

"I know to do what we do you gotta be able to take abuse; you gotta be able to have people talk crazy about you. In this business, you gotta be able to have people disrespecting you, and you gotta smile and pretend like that's okay," he said, before comparing himself to his character from King Richard, who was a "fierce defender of his family."

It was also reported by the press in the auditorium that after the altercation, Denzel Washington had gone to speak to Will Smith. In his speech, the actor said what Denzel told him, "at your highest moments, be careful because that's when the devil comes for you."

Addressing The Academy for the incident, he said, "I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees."

Smith then said, "Art imitates life: I look like the crazy father. Just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things." He later added, "Being able to love and care for my mother and my family, my wife ... Thank you for this honor. Thank you for this moment. ... I hope the Academy invites me back."

This marked Will Smith's first Oscar win and his third nomination. He was previously nominated for Best Actor in 2002 for Ali and in 2007 for The Pursuit of Happyness.
