When Karan Arjun brought India to a standstill: The untold story of its phenomenal box office frenzy https://ift.tt/LiFVqKX

When Karan Arjun released on 13th January 1995, it wasn’t just another Bollywood film; it was an event that rewrote box-office records and solidified the star power of its iconic leads, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Directed by Rakesh Roshan and produced under the banner of Film Kraft Productions, Karan Arjun was a commercial juggernaut that demonstrated the extraordinary impact of a well-crafted, star-studded masala entertainer.

A nationwide frenzy: Unstoppable crowds, police deployment, and midnight screenings

The film's opening day saw uncontrollable crowds across the country, a testament to the immense anticipation it had generated. In Muzaffarpur, Bihar, the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. shows had to be cancelled as frustrated fans, unable to secure tickets, created chaos. Similarly, in Hyderabad, the mania was such that police had to be called to manage the crowds at Ramakrishna 70mm cinema. The first day's advance booking at this theater collected an unprecedented ₹90,000. Demand was so high that the second week’s tickets had to be opened on the very first day, with the entire second week selling out in advance.

Indore witnessed an unannounced premiere show on January 11th, two days before the official release. Even this surprise screening was house-full. By the next morning, a special 8 a.m. show at Neelkamal cinema was arranged, which too recorded full occupancy, with ticketless fans thronging outside.

Jaipur’s record-breaking cold wave heat

In Jaipur, despite freezing temperatures, Karan Arjun created heat waves at the box office. Paras cinema hosted a 6 a.m. show on the release day, which saw packed houses. This phenomenon of audiences braving extreme cold to watch the film underscored its magnetic pull.

Marketing and hysteria: Hyderabad and Secunderabad's grand affair

In the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, Karan Arjun was a cultural moment. The local distributor, Dilshad Films, installed 19 banners across the cities, and local bangle shops displayed cutouts of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, referencing the bangles’ significance in the film. The distributor’s office in Secunderabad was inundated with requests for tickets, highlighting the film’s unmatched demand. In its second week, Karan Arjun was still running in 11 cinemas - a record in itself.

Box Office domination: Records across regions

Karan Arjun didn’t just attract crowds; it smashed records at every major cinema. Some of its most remarkable achievements include:

Mumbai (Kalpana, Kurla): A first-week share of ₹2,46,000, surpassing the two-week share of Khal-Nayak.

Kanpur: Collected ₹5,25,000 from four cinemas.

East Punjab: A staggering ₹23 lakh in the first week.

Surat (Jivanjyot): Set a new record with ₹1,57,988 in collections.

Jaipur: Created city records with ₹2,71,353 at Premprakash cinema and ₹6,50,000 as the first week's share from Jaipur alone.

Indore: Surpassed the six-week share of Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! in just one week.

Amravati and Ujjain: Created new highs in collections, setting records at multiple cinemas.

A clean sweep in smaller centers

The film’s success wasn’t limited to metros or tier-1 cities. Smaller towns like Chandrapur (₹1,24,651 at Abhay cinema) and Faridabad (₹1,03,000 at Rachna cinema) also recorded historic first-week collections. These feats highlight Karan Arjun’s universal appeal, transcending regional boundaries.

Star Power, vision, and legacy

The film brought together a stellar ensemble cast, including Raakhee, Kajol, Amrish Puri, and Mamta Kulkarni, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The storyline of reincarnation, revenge, and family ties resonated deeply with audiences, while Rakesh Roshan’s direction ensured the perfect balance of drama, action, and emotion.

Its iconic dialogues (“Mere Karan Arjun aayenge”) and gripping music by Rajesh Roshan further solidified its place in Bollywood history. The production values, combined with a deeply engaging narrative, made Karan Arjun a cinematic spectacle that continues to be celebrated decades later.

Karan Arjun wasn’t just a film - it was a cultural phenomenon that redefined Bollywood box-office benchmarks. From packed cinemas in Jaipur’s winter chill to unprecedented demand in Hyderabad, its success was unparalleled. The legacy of Karan Arjun serves as a reminder of the magic that can be created when storytelling, star power, and direction come together seamlessly. Even today, it remains a shining example of Bollywood's golden era of blockbusters.

Anupam Kher takes nostalgic trip to Mumbai’s iconic locations: Casa Maria, Prithvi Theatre and more! https://ift.tt/eM9zREr

Veteran actor Anupam Kher marked an impressive milestone in his career this year, completing 40 years in the film industry. To celebrate this achievement, Kher reflected on his early days in Mumbai and shared memories of six places that played an instrumental role in shaping his journey to success, during the promotions of his latest film, Vijay 69.

Kher, who made his debut with the critically acclaimed Saaransh in 1984, reminisced about his humble beginnings as a struggling actor in Mumbai. "When I first came to Mumbai, I was just trying to make ends meet. I never imagined I would reach this point in my career," he said. Over the years, Kher's determination and dedication have made him one of the most respected and versatile actors in the Indian film industry. Casa Maria, Bandra: A Special Place for Anupam Kher One of the most cherished spots for Anupam Kher is Casa Maria, a residence on St. Paul's Road in Bandra, which became his home during the making of Saaransh. "This was my third house in the city, and I stayed on the first floor when I was shooting for my debut film," he shared.

Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, Bandra: His First Job Anupam’s career in Mumbai began with a rather unconventional start at Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir, also located in Bandra. "The first place I worked at was when I came to Mumbai on June 3rd, 1981, for a job in an acting school. But when I arrived, I discovered that there was no actual building or school; we were conducting acting classes on the beach!"

Prithvi Theatre, Juhu: The Beginning of His Acting Life Prithvi Theatre in Juhu holds a significant place in Kher’s journey, where he began to establish himself as an actor. "I started my life at Prithvi Theatre when I landed in Mumbai on June 3rd, 1981. It’s also where I performed in Satish Kaushik’s play, Us Par Ka Nazara, which was an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge," he shared.

Kalumal Estate, Juhu: A Dream Come True Anupam’s first personal investment in Mumbai was a one-BHK flat in Kalumal Estate, Juhu, which he bought after establishing himself in the industry. "This was my first flat in Mumbai, B23 at Kalumal Estate. It was a big step for me," Kher recalled.

Shastri Nagar, Santacruz: A Humble Beginning Before moving to more established locations in Mumbai, Kher lived in a modest setting at Shastri Nagar, Santacruz, between 1982 and 1983. "I lived there with four people. We used to sleep on the floor, and there was no fan! I can never forget those days," he shared.

Kherwadi, Bandra East: The Early Days of Struggle In 1981, Kher resided in Kherwadi, Bandra East, with a group of aspiring actors. "I lived with four people in Kherwadi, Bandra East, in 1981, and those days were a true test of endurance," Kher reflected.

As Anupam Kher continues to look back at his formative years in Mumbai, his current film Vijay 69 is gaining considerable praise for its compelling narrative and his performance. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.

Actor-comedian Vir Das made history as the first Indian to host the prestigious International Emmy Awards 2024. Days after the event, Das shared highlights from his witty and thought-provoking opening monologue, which took humorous jabs at Hollywood, America, and Elon Musk, while paying tribute to Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan.

A Historic Moment for Vir Das Vir Das returned to the International Emmys stage after winning his first Emmy last year for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. Reflecting on his hosting duties, Das called it a “deeply personal and exhilarating moment,” adding, “The Emmys are a celebration of diverse stories from around the world. Das opened his monologue with a cheeky reference to immigration: “It is very good to be here completely legally. I’m not a citizen. It’s a very quick visit, in and out. I was just here to vote.” Hollywood and Its Stereotypes Das humorously addressed Hollywood’s tendency to typecast Indian actors: “Any Indian character in Hollywood is named ‘Raj.’ I’ve been offered Dr Raj, Lawyer Raj, Banker Raj, and Engineer Raj. I once even got a guy from England literally named British Raj. I didn’t take the part. I want to keep my diamonds.”

He also commented on Hollywood’s penchant for remaking international stories: “We tell the original diverse international stories that Hollywood remakes into cash cows with Kevin Hart and Liam Neeson.” Sarcasm for America and Elon Musk Das’s monologue included sharp commentary on America and tech mogul Elon Musk. On Musk: “Elon Musk is a legend. Technically, it’s self-driving, but ultimately, I have control.” He also joked: “Keep Elon Musk happy. He’ll buy your platform and turn it into a podcast.” On American politics, Das quipped: “Please do not say anything divisive, offensive, or inflammatory. This is America, and you’ll be elected. Sorry. Ejected.” Shah Rukh Khan's Iconic Dialogue Vir Das referenced Shah Rukh Khan’s famous line from Baazigar: “‘Haar ke jeetne wale ko Baazigar kehte hain.’ It means learning to conquer loss is the greatest victory of all.” Das humorously added: “The guy who said that in the movie brutally murdered four people. That may be you at the afterparty. Just murder within your category.”

Arjun Kapoor reflects on supportive bond with sisters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor: “I am better off for having them in my life” https://ift.tt/IgL8WNy

Arjun Kapoor believes the notion that he is the one looking after his sisters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, is inaccurate. In an interview with Galatta Media, he revealed that there were times when they supported him and helped him navigate through his vulnerable moments.

In the interview, Arjun Kapoor spoke about his bond with his sisters. He said, “They both have been really solid behind me, and I know it sounds like I am the brother who is taking care of them and all that. It’s not always like that. There are moments where you are also vulnerable. Janhvi has seen that vulnerable side of me. You question life, you question choices, you question is it all worth it, you question what will happen because you have to realise that negativity is a constant in our profession. It’s just that the volume of it sometimes reaches a point where your head just wants to explode.”

Arjun Kapoor revealed that Janhvi has witnessed his vulnerable moments and supported him during challenging times. Janhvi and Khushi are his step-sisters from Boney Kapoor's marriage to Sridevi.

Discussing his relationship with Janhvi and Khushi, Arjun Kapoor said, “I am better off for having Janhvi and Khushi in my life. I love them a lot. I care for them a lot and I am so glad that they are doing well and I am happy to say that they are very well brought up kids.”

During the interview, Janhvi joined the conversation via call and spoke about Arjun. She mentioned witnessing him “waiting in the wings these past two years” and acknowledged that his journey hasn’t been easy. Janhvi praised Arjun for maintaining a brave front and expressed her pride in him and his journey.

Arjun Kapoor is currently receiving praise for his role as the antagonist in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again. The multi-starrer, which released on Diwali, has performed well at the box office.

Arjun Kapoor delved into a darker realm with his portrayal of Danger Lanka, the chief antagonist in Singham Again. His character was described as a modern-day Ravana from the Ramayana, pitted against Ajay Devgn’s Lord Rama-inspired portrayal.

The film also features Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh reprising their roles as Veer Sooryavanshi and Simmba, respectively, along with Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff in pivotal roles.

Rajkummar Rao reveals why he asked his wife Patralekha to apply sindoor on him at their wedding: “It should be equal” https://ift.tt/uOb1yER

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha have frequently inspired their fans with their thoughtful gestures promoting 'equality' in their relationship. From Rajkummar requesting Patralekha to apply sindoor on him during their wedding, to touching her feet on Karwachauth, their actions have often made headlines. Recently, Rajkummar shared the reasoning behind asking his wife to apply sindoor on him at their wedding, a ritual typically performed by the groom on the bride's forehead.

In a candid interview with journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Stree 2 actor Rajkummar Rao shared the thought process behind his meaningful gesture. He explained that he noticed Patralekha wearing traditional bridal items like sindoor, mangalsutra, and chooda, while he only wore a ring.

This observation led him to reflect on the concept of ‘equality’ in their relationship. “At that moment, it was very impulsive. I thought, why is it just her wearing the sindoor, mangalsutra, and chooda? She had to do so much, and I was just wearing a ring. I told her, You should also put sindoor on me. It should be equal,” he said.

Patralekha was deeply touched by the thoughtful gesture from Rajkummar Rao, and the couple was overjoyed during the moment. However, they didn’t expect it to receive such widespread attention. Rajkummar explained, "She knows me well, so this was something she expected from me. But I'm glad it touched so many hearts."

In addition to the meaningful ritual of applying sindoor on each other's foreheads, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha also asked the Pandit at their wedding to explain the significance of each mantra he recited, so they could fully understand and embrace them. Rajkummar shared a humorous moment from the ceremony and said, “There was one vachan that said she couldn't get angry at me. I immediately said, 'This one is not happening, it's not valid.'"

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha started dating in 2010 and got married in a private ceremony in Chandigarh on November 15, 2024.

On the work front, Rajkummar was last seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, where he starred alongside Triptii and Mallika Sherawat.

Ananya Panday opens up about compromising in past relationships; says, “I have changed myself a lot, but not to the point that it turned bad...” https://ift.tt/L59DnYt

Ananya Panday, often in the news for her personal life, recently shared on Raj Shamani's podcast that she has been in a past relationship where she made significant changes to herself. However, she clarified that these changes never reached a negative point.

Ananya said, “I don’t think you see a red flag in a relationship immediately. When you are out of a relationship, at that time, you realise that it could have been done better. If I am in a relationship, I will do everything to figure it out and sort it out. I see the best in people and do my best and give it my all in a relationship, but I expect that from my partner also. For me, half-heartedness doesn’t work. If you are in a relationship, you have to show loyalty and respect.”

Ananya revealed that in the past, she had instances where she adjusted herself for her partner. When asked if she had ever compromised in a relationship, she added, “We all have a little bit. I have been in a relationship where I have changed myself a lot, but not to the point that it turned bad... You do things to impress in the beginning of a relationship and you don’t realise how much you are changing for your partner.”

Ananya shared her perspective on romance, saying it involves "someone who listens to me" and emphasized the importance of support. She added that as a young and successful actor, her achievements can sometimes intimidate men, making it difficult for them to process.

On Ananya Panday’s birthday, Walker Blanco expressed his love with a heartfelt Instagram Story, writing, “Happy Birthday Beautiful!!! You are soooo special. I love you Annieee.”

The two were first seen together at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding in July. According to Bombay Times, Ananya introduced Walker as her “partner” at the event. A source revealed, “She wasn’t hiding it and even introduced him to everyone. They were seen dancing together during a romantic song. However, it’s still too new for them to make it official.”

On the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen in CTRL, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, where she played Nella, a social media influencer whose life unravels after using an AI to erase her cheating ex (Vihaan Samat) from her digital presence. The film premiered on Netflix. Up next, she will star in a project alongside Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan.

Actor Ananya Panday recently spoke about her close bond with Shah Rukh Khan, sharing heartwarming anecdotes from her childhood. Growing up as a close friend of Suhana Khan, SRK's daughter, Ananya often experienced firsthand his nurturing and supportive nature.

Shah Rukh Khan: The Emotionally Available Man Speaking on Raj Shamani’s podcast, Ananya described Shah Rukh Khan as "the definition of an emotionally available man." She reminisced about his involvement in their lives, saying, “He’s just the most amazing father. Even though he may be the busiest man, he always made time for his kids and even for us.”

Recalling fond memories, Ananya shared, “He’s come for every single sports day of ours, taught me for relay races, practiced taekwondo with us, taught me and Shanaya how to ride a bike, and even helped us with our homework. Any problem we had, we could call him up.” A One-of-a-Kind Charisma When asked about SRK’s magnetic personality, Ananya highlighted his ability to make everyone feel special: “It’s that charisma thing. When you are the king but still make everybody feel like they’re the king—that’s him. The way he conducts himself; he’s been very real. If you watch his old interviews, he’s never been cookie-cutter or formulaic. He has always spoken his mind.” Respect for Women Ananya also spoke about Shah Rukh’s respect for women, both on-screen and in real life. “The respect that he has given women in his films, the way he treats mother figures, and any woman in his life… It makes a huge difference. You can’t fake it; that’s just who he is as a person.”

Ram Gopal Varma lauds Sandeep Reddy Vanga's depiction of violence in Animal; says it is “more impactful than armies at war” https://ift.tt/H5LmQPl

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) again shared his admiration for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. In a candid conversation with Vanga at the Animal vs Wild Animal event, RGV expressed how the film's depiction of violence left a lasting impression on him.

Emotional Depth in Violence RGV praised the raw intensity of Animal, particularly highlighting the emotional depth behind its violent scenes. He said, "The violence was more impactful than seeing armies fighting each other." Drawing a parallel to his own work, RGV recalled narrating the concept of gritty violence to Nagarjuna during the making of Shiva. He stated that the emotional stakes in Animal, especially in scenes featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol, made the action more resonant. Haunting Visuals and Direction Ram Gopal Varma admitted that certain scenes in Animal stayed with him long after watching the film. He remarked, "I felt the same thing with Ranbir's scenes in Animal, especially the low-angle shot. It haunts me even now." Contrasting Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Personality During the discussion, RGV also commented on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s calm demeanor, which contrasts with the violent narratives in his films. "I never see anger in you. Maybe you reserve it for your characters, or you are acting like you don’t have that rage," he noted. A Box-Office Triumph Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, focuses on a complex father-son relationship. The film became one of the highest-grossing films of 2023, receiving widespread acclaim for its emotionally charged storytelling and intense action. With a sequel titled Animal Park already announced, the franchise is set to continue its legacy. In addition to this, the film will turn one on December 1.

Payal Kapadia on the triumph of All We Imagine As Light, "I didn't have any such expectations" https://ift.tt/a3LNZS2

When Payal Kapadia was still a student at FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), she wanted to make a short film. “We were all completing the course and thinking about going to Mumbai to work. Maybe that was something that all of us were talking about. I wanted to make a film about women working in Mumbai. So, I got interested in the profession of nursing. Because nursing is one profession where a lot of women will leave their hometowns to come and work in cities. Otherwise, for women, it's always complicated with the family. Like how you explain that you will go somewhere else to work, why you are going and all that,” she said.

She added, “So (I) felt that the nursing profession allowed me this script to take place in Mumbai. I met a lot of nurses, and I did a lot of research. Met young girls aspiring to be nurses who are still in Kerala, not yet come to Mumbai. And from there I got all the kind of material for the film.”

Speaking of the impeccable cast of the film, Kapadia said, “It was very complicated. Because it was my first film, I was also learning how I want to do casting. Because even though I made short films, which were fiction when I was a student in FTII, doing a feature is a whole different thing. So, I wanted to be very particular about who to cast and all. So, Chhaya Kadam ji, for example, I always knew I wanted to cast her. I had seen her in this movie Fandry 10 years ago in Pune. And she had done a very amazing role in that film. So, I wanted to work with her but of course I was a little hesitant. Because she is a veteran actress and for me, I am a newbie.”

The filmmaker added, “But when I met her and we spoke about the script, she and the character actually have a lot of similarities. Because the character is from Ratnagiri and she is from the Konkan. So, the language there, like she was speaking Hindi with that Konkan accent and everything. So, she was really bringing all those layers to the character. I was only happy that she agreed to work with me. With Kani (Kusruti), actually I have always wanted to work with her also. Because I had seen her in 2-3 short films. She has incredible range. She can do anything as an actor. So, I have always wanted to work with her. And I had been talking to her about this film for many years. And sending her the script and all that. And she was always very supportive and interested.”

“I was not finding anybody for the younger girl's role at all,” said Kapadia. “I searched a lot. I went to colleges. I thought I would get a fresh face. Then I saw Divya Prabha in a film. And that performance was very, very strong. But I thought, this girl is acting well but her personality is so serious. Because in that role, she was very serious. But I said, she is acting really well, let me call her and meet her.”

Speaking of locational hazards while shooting in Mumbai, Payal Kapadia said, “Sometimes we used to get permission. That's when we used to block roads and shoot at night. But in some locations, like the one we shot in Muhammad Ali Road, it's very difficult to get permission there. And we were only getting a slot at four in the morning. It's not that easy to do that. In some places, we just decided that we will shoot with a small camera. Like a documentary film. Ratnagiri is where the second half is shot. And there is a long history of people coming from Ratnagiri to live and work in Mumbai, across the 20th century. Most of the people who worked in the mills were from Ratnagiri. And the Parel-Dadar area, where the mills used to be, the identity of Ratnagiri, the food there, the language there, you will see that a lot in this area.”

She added, “So, I wanted my protagonist Parvati (Chhaya Kadam) to also be from Ratnagiri. And when she loses her home in Mumbai, she has to go back to Ratnagiri. I wanted to draw a line between the people of Ratnagiri... Because in Ratnagiri, right now also you will find that most families have one person who is working in Mumbai. So, there is a very strong connection between this Konkan region and Mumbai. And I wanted to continue with that connection.”

This writer also asked the director the moment about the episode with the Drowning Man. She said, “In the second part of the film, I wanted to kind of have a magic realism. Because Prabha (Kani Kusruti)'s character is not able to express her desires. And I think in our culture also, there is a kind of difficulty for women to express their feelings and express their desires. So, sometimes we solve this with folk stories or like a kind of a fable. Like the short story called Duvidha, in that the husband is a ghost. There are a lot of stories in Gujarat that you can read about. Like folk tales from Rajasthan, Gujarat, even Karnataka. Which will have the desires of women, when they can't express it, then they take a folk form. Where the husband becomes a ghost or a tree or a dog. She can express her feelings through that other object or through that other being.”

The young filmmaker added, “So, I felt that even in my situation, I wanted to play on that magic realism and that folk tale, fable-like quality. Which is present in our literature. I felt I could take that liberty and try this out. Because I didn't want that the husband comes and tells her, you know, you live your life. But more that she herself is saying that I have had enough of you. I think that a kind of morality, which Prabha has internalized, she had to leave that. So, it was important for me that she manifests this husband. And it's all a fantasy. All a kind of dream. Like an afternoon dream.”

Kapadia admitted that she is taken aback by the response to her film. “I didn't have any such expectations. I spent a lot of time raising the money to make this film. So, the fact that I got to make it at all was for me a great, like was for me very important and a kind of achievement in that only that we managed to make the film. Because when it takes so many years, sometimes you wonder if you will be able to make this film or it will just be a script. So, when we collected enough budget to make the film, to say, yes, we can shoot. That for me was the most important moment. And then to finish the film, to be able to shoot it, all those things I can't take for granted. Because each of them took a lot of time and a lot of effort from not just me, so many people. So, I'm just really grateful that so many people appreciated our small film and all the way in Cannes also.”

Next, Payal is making another film based in Mumbai. “I want to make a Mumbai trilogy. And they will have different themes but keeping the core of Mumbai as a city and its contradictions, I'm writing another work at the moment,” she said.

Shilpa Shirodkar beams with pride as Salman Khan praises her brother-in-law Mahesh Babu's Humility off-screen https://ift.tt/5BQSPTl

Salman Khan, the Bollywood actor, mentioned Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu during a conversation with Shilpa Shirodkar and others on the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 18. While discussing the contrast between an actor’s on-screen and off-screen persona, Salman Khan highlighted Mahesh Babu’s ability to stay grounded off-screen, despite his powerful on-screen presence.

Salman Khan said, “Shilpa [Shirodkar], your brother-in-law Mahesh Babu, on screen he is like that. But in real life he is not like that. Woh ek screen ka jo ek posture hain, ek jo bhagne ka style hain, ek action ka hain, ek look hain! Woh ek attitude dikhta hain. But real life main toh hain nahi! Simple sa aadmi hain, family man hain (He has a posture, a way of running, doing action… he has a look. He has an attitude. But not in real life, where he is a simple person, a family man).”

Shilpa couldn't conceal her pride and smiled as Salman spoke warmly about Mahesh Babu.

Shilpa's sister, Namrata Shirodkar, is married to Mahesh Babu, and the couple has been together for 19 years. While Mahesh and Namrata have kept their support for Shilpa private, the actress mentioned that they are proud of her and always stand by her.

In an interview with the Times of India in October, Shilpa Shirodkar shared, “Namrata and Mahesh are really happy for me. They are proud of me and they trust that whatever I do, I’ll do it on my own. I know I’ll make them proud. As a family, we are very close-knit, and they are incredibly supportive of me.”

Ranbir Kapoor REVEALS Alia Bhatt didn’t know who Kishore Kumar was: “It’s just a circle of life; people are forgotten” https://ift.tt/beDVHTs

Ranbir Kapoor made an intriguing revelation at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024, where he announced the upcoming Raj Kapoor Film Festival. While discussing the importance of remembering cultural icons, the actor shared an anecdote about his now-wife, Alia Bhatt, leaving many surprised.

“I remember the first time I met Alia, she asked me, ‘Who’s Kishore Kumar?’ It’s just a circle of life; people are forgotten. It’s important we remember our roots,” Ranbir said during the event.

Ranbir’s remark sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some found it amusing, dubbing Ranbir as Alia’s “personal troll,” others defended the actress. Many pointed out that Alia was just nine years old at the time of their first meeting and could not be expected to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of Bollywood legends.

One user quipped, “He is her personal troll right there,” while another wrote, “He just dissed Alia.” However, a more supportive voice added, “Alia was only 9 years old when she asked that question. You can’t expect a child to know everything.”

Raj Kapoor Film Festival Announced

On a more serious note, Ranbir announced a significant tribute to his grandfather, Raj Kapoor. He revealed that the Raj Kapoor Film Festival will run from December 13 to December 15, showcasing restored versions of 10 iconic films by the legendary actor-filmmaker.

“We are going to organise the Raj Kapoor Film Festival all over India. It’s a great way to celebrate his legacy and preserve his contributions for future generations,” Ranbir said to a packed auditorium at the Kala Academy in Goa. Discussions on a Raj Kapoor Biopic Ranbir also shared his thoughts on making a biopic about Raj Kapoor, a project he has been considering for some time. Speaking candidly, he said, “I talk to a lot of people, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, about how to make a biopic on Mr. Raj Kapoor. A biopic isn’t just about success; it’s about portraying someone’s life honestly—the lows, struggles, and relationships.”

Govinda recalls Shilpa Shetty’s playful tease after his accidental shooting incident: “ChiChi, who shot you” https://ift.tt/GZY5BMi

Bollywood actor Govinda is all set to make his first on-camera appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show after an unfortunate accident in which he accidentally shot himself. In the promo released by Netflix for Saturday’s episode, Govinda opens up about the aftermath of the incident. While it's expected that he will go into more detail about the accident during the show, the promo also reveals Govinda’s account of Shilpa Shetty’s reaction to the shocking incident.

Seated alongside his nephew, actor Krushna Abhishek, and Chunky Panday, Govinda recalled the incident while speaking with Kapil Sharma. He shared that Shilpa Shetty had visited him after he was shot. "When Shilpa came to meet me, she first asked, 'ChiChi, how did you hurt yourself? Where was Sunita?' I told her, 'Sunita was out, she was visiting a temple,'" Govinda revealed. Govinda then went on to share how Shilpa playfully teased him and his wife after the incident. “She then asked, ‘Who shot you then?’" he said with a laugh. For those who are unaware, Govinda accidentally shot himself in the leg on October 1. He was quickly rushed to a hospital in Mumbai, where he received treatment for a few days. Once discharged, Govinda met with the press and opened up about the details of the accident. “Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened," Govinda said. “Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua?" (It was a deep wound, and I couldn’t believe it had happened. I thought, ‘What just occurred?’) he recalled, describing the shock he felt after the incident. The actor shared that he was alone at the time of the incident, which occurred early in the morning, between 4:45 and 5:00 am, as he was preparing to travel to Kolkata. "I was getting ready to leave for the show... for Kolkata. It was around 4:45-5:00 am. Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (shock) and then saw... there was a fountain (of blood)," he explained. Govinda was later photographed leaving the hospital in a wheelchair. However, just earlier this week, he reassured his fans that he was recovering well by stepping out to cast his vote in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024. The actor walked to the polling booth unaided, without the need for a wheelchair or crutches, signaling a positive recovery. 18 Years of Dhoom 2 EXCLUSIVE: Allan Amin reveals UNTOLD story of Hrithik Roshan's 8-month rigorous rollerblading skate training and Aditya Chopra’s reaction to DARING opening sequence https://ift.tt/H5ExcZp

Dhoom 2, produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by the late Sanjay Gadhvi, completed 18 years on November 2. It was the biggest hit of 2006 and is still considered to be one of the coolest action films to have come out of Bollywood. Action director Allan Amin choreographed the action and the fascinating stunts in this film. On Dhoom 2’s 18th anniversary, Bollywood Hungama spoke exclusively with Allan Amin about working with Hrithik Roshan, designing the action and a lot more. Interestingly, Hrithik and Allan had earlier worked in Mission Kashmir (2000), the first Hindi film to have cable work.

When asked about the brief given to him by producer Aditya Chopra and director Sanjay Gadhvi, Allan Amin said, “The one-line brief to me was that it should be bigger than Dhoom’s first part. Before they started working on the film, I had already designed the opening sequence wherein he (Hrithik Roshan) jumps off from the helicopter and lands on top of the train. When I went to meet Adi (Aditya Chopra) and Sanjay Gadhavi, I informed them about it. They were mesmerized by the idea. But then they wondered that if the opening scene is so grand, what about the climax? I assured them not to worry and added that, ‘If I can think of this scene, I’ll also think of the climax as well’. They trusted my conviction and okayed the entry sequence of Hrithik Roshan.”

Allan Amin said that working with Hrithik Roshan was a good experience, “Whatever we told him, he did all the action scenes religiously. I made him practice rollerblading skates for 8 months. He practiced every day until he became a pro at it. Only then did we shoot the sequence with him.” The said sequence appears in the first half of the film and is memorable even today.

Talking more about the opening sequence, Allan Amin stated, “I made Hrithik Roshan jump from a helicopter onto a moving train. Before shooting the sequence, I told a base jumper, ‘jump, land on the train and show me’. He jumped on a trial basis and touched his feet on the train. That’s when I realized that this is possible. And only then, we went ahead with the scene. Or else, we would not have done the scene.”

Trade experts congratulate Kartik Aaryan for winning the Singham Again vs Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 clash: “To go past Singham Again is a humongous achievement for Kartik. For him, it’s not a jump; it’s a LEAP” https://ift.tt/Zf46mxL

Kartik Aaryan stood against the multi-starrer Singham Again and came out with flying colours. Many were of the opinion that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 should move out of the Diwali race. But Kartik and producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series didn’t bow down. The result: Kartik and the makers had the last laugh as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 managed to trend better.

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “It withstood a giant like Singham Again. It has so many stars, including Salman Khan in the end. To go past that film is a humongous achievement for Kartik. For him, it’s not a jump; it’s a leap! You are known by your last Friday and his last release was Chandu Champion. When I saw Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, I told him, ‘Chandu Champion se aap awards kamaoge. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 se aap awards ke saath rewards bhi kamaoge’. And somewhere, box-office rewards are more important than getting awards (smiles).”

He added, “Kartik Aaryan has a huge following among kids and family audiences. That worked to the advantage of the film. And look at the way he promoted it; he even went to Patna. He could have ended the campaign after the first week. But he did not stop. That also adds to his popularity – his connect with the masses. The whole idea of letting people know that the actor is coming to their city to promote his film makes a difference. Of course, the content also has to match. Singham Again stars, meanwhile, did only select venue visits that too in Mumbai.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, “If your film emerges a success in such a high-profile clash, it’s a big shot in the arm. He’s now in the big league. He didn’t clash with a film starring a lot of stars but also with a hit filmmaker – Rohit Shetty. He’s the face of the franchise and hence, he gets the benefit when the film works.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, said that he won when he decided to clash Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Singham Again, “Kartik standing against these high profile actors itself is a big thing for him.” He added, “Kartik has been dabbling in various genres, be it Chandu Champion, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Freddy etc. He’s acting in light mass-based comedies because he should continue. He has a long way ahead of him.”

Vedang Raina on his recent visit to Kashmir, "Kashmiri food is my favourite, I love rogan josh" https://ift.tt/XTU3zDL

Young actor Vedang Raina made his acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. Recently, he did his first theatrical film in the form of Vasan Bala’s Jigra, which also starred Alia Bhatt. The actor had recently been to Kashmir, and he couldn’t stop raving about the place in an interview with us.

Have you been mobbed after Jigra release?

I haven’t really stepped out yet, so no mobbing, haha. But Jigra changed my life way before it was even released. I’m just grateful I was part of this project and got to work alongside some really great minds. I feel blessed to be in this position so early in my career and at such a young age.

Which is the best compliment you have received so far?

The best compliment I’ve received is that this didn’t look like my debut at all. I work really hard only to get appreciated for my work, that’s all I really care about. So, I’m glad that people liked my performances and saw some promise. It really means the world.

You recently visited Kashmir. What was it like?

It’s one of the best places in the world to visit. One of my favourite vacations I’ve had.

Did you go with friends?

I went with my family. My parents didn’t really live in Kashmir either, but they used to go there quite often as kids. They had a lot of family there.

Was it memorable?

It was really special to visit the places where they spent their childhood. They showed me around Srinagar like it’s their home.

What were the locals like?

They are very warm there to all visitors.

Did you meet your kith and kin in Kashmir?

I don’t have any relatives there anymore. Quite sad actually.

Did you get a chance to try the local cuisine?

Oh yes! Best food in the world! I always say it. Kashmiri food is my favourite!! I love rogan josh. And the walnut pies in Kashmir are also really good.

Would you like to go back to Kashmir?

Most definitely. I love my Kashmir. One day I would love to have a house there.

Did you feel safe in Kashmir?

It’s a different Kashmir now. Yes, I felt safe.

Where do you feel at home?

Now it’s Mumbai. But Srinagar somehow feels like home. Rainawari in Srinagar is where my father’s side of the family is from.

What next?

Now plans are to focus on the next. I want to keep growing and improving and evolving as an actor. I want to keep challenging myself and keep working, that’s the only focus. Hopefully I get interesting opportunities to do that!

Manoj Bajpayee highlights struggles of Independent cinema on OTT platforms: “The OTT platforms have stopped welcoming that kind of creativity” https://ift.tt/6vkGbV7

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2024 kicked off in Goa on Wednesday, celebrating Indian cinema. A major highlight on Day 1 was a masterclass by Manoj Bajpayee, where the renowned actor discussed his acting journey, film choices, and the challenges confronting independent cinema today.

Manoj Bajpayee, known for taking on unconventional roles and collaborating with emerging filmmakers, openly discussed what influences his career decisions. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “When I was doing Gangs Of Wasseypur, I realised this industry is not going to give me what I want. They weren’t writing the scripts that I wanted and not giving opportunities to the talents who have it in them. That’s when I realised I have to look for my own directors and scripts or just wait for eternity for that one script to happen to you, and I was desperate!”

He explained how this realization drove him to actively look for promising filmmakers. “I started watching a lot of short films on YouTube. In that search, I found too many people. That’s when I went for the new filmmakers – Dipesh Jain (Gali Guleiyan), Kanu Bahl (Despatch). I knew I had too much to express, but there was nobody in the industry who was able to give me that,” Bajpayee shared.

Bajpayee expressed concern about the challenges facing independent cinema in India today, especially on digital platforms. He said, “We are at our lowest right now. We thought there is a strong platform for independent cinema, but now even the OTT platforms have stopped welcoming that kind of creativity.” He added, “We are living in a time of uncertainty. One day, independent cinema will rise again. Independent cinemas are the only kind of cinema that is staying true to the definition of cinema as an art.”

Bajpayee, last seen in Bhaiyya Ji, is preparing for the release of Kanu Bahl’s highly anticipated Despatch, which will premiere at IFFI 2024.

Nayanthara reveals desire for blend of Hindu and Christian traditions in wedding; says, “We kept it a Hindu wedding with an English touch” https://ift.tt/WdlpN82

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan had a grand wedding in 2022 after dating for several years. Although originally planned to take place at the Tirupati temple, the venue was changed last minute due to logistical issues. The couple ultimately tied the knot at the Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort and Spa in Mahabalipuram, with all the arrangements completed in just ten days.

Shaadi Squad, the event planners behind celebrity weddings like Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif-Vicky Kaushal, organized Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan's wedding. In Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, the planners revealed that despite the last-minute venue change, the couple was determined to keep the original wedding date.

The actress also expressed her desire for a Hindu wedding after converting from Christianity to Hinduism. She shared, “Because I am a born Christian, my mom always wanted to see me in that Christian attire – the wedding gown kind of a thing. But, since I have become a Hindu, and we have to do a Hindu wedding, I just thought it should be like a beautiful mix of both a Hindu and a Christian wedding. So we kept it a Hindu wedding with an English touch.”

Born Diana Kurien, Nayanthara adopted her stage name when she entered the film industry. Her wedding was a star-studded affair, attended by prominent figures from Indian cinema, including Rajinikanth, Mani Ratnam, Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee, Suriya, and Jyotika. The couple visited the Tirupati temple the day after their wedding to seek blessings. Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are now parents to twin sons, Uyir and Ulag, born via surrogacy.

In other news, Nayanthara publicly called out Dhanush for suing her over the use of a BTS video from the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan sets in her upcoming documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale. In an open letter, she accused Dhanush of ignoring her request for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to include the footage in the film and made serious allegations against him.

Trade experts reveal Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 missed 50 crore+ opening due to clash: “Singham Again could Have hit Rs. 55 crore solo!'" https://ift.tt/aPzgp6j

More than two weeks have passed since the release of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Looking at their opening and week-on-week performance, the trade experts agreed that had these films been released solo, the business would have been much more.

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh explained, “Both films could have collected 25-30% more. They lost out on screens and shows. They couldn’t open the advance booking earlier because they were fighting for screens until the last minute. A prominent North India exhibitor told me, ‘The audience is coming to buy tickets for both films. And we had to turn them away saying, ‘Humein khud ko nahin pata kaunsi film aane waali hai hamare theatre mein’. So it was disturbing that moviegoers had to return empty-handed. This time, it got quite messy.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, felt, “Both movies would have done 30% more business.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan gave a detailed explanation, “Both would have opened bigger. Both films had the potential of being one of the biggest or maybe the biggest openers of the year. It would have had a bountiful weekend.”

He continued, “They suffered a dent of 30-35%. Had these films released solo, a Rs. 50 crores plus opening was confirmed for both the films. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 might have opened less than Rs. 50 crores by a few crores but Singham Again had the potential to open in the Rs. 55 crores range. They would have got more screens. These films crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in 3 days. As a solo release, they would have crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in 2 days and had a weekend of Rs. 130-140 crores plus.”

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi, however, disagreed, “Had both the films run to house full capacities all across the board, there would have been a lot of cannibalization of revenues. However, though both did well, they didn’t run to 100% occupancy. All the conversation and the buzz that the clash created probably benefitted both. It also created some sort of FOMO among patrons and that definitely helped the film.”

Atul Mohan, meanwhile, complained about the inflated ticket rates, “Pricing ne gadbad kar diya. I was shocked to see that even in Patna, the tickets were priced at Rs. 450, that too after Diwali. The theatres should ideally have kept the prices competitive to maintain the flow of the audience. Maybe, the rates could have been reasonable in the morning and afternoon and for evening and shows, they could have charged popular or blockbuster rates.”

He added, “Many, who were put off by the high rates in the weekend, would have preferred to wait until Monday-Tuesday for the prices to come down. Sadly, that didn’t happen. A film is also a perishable commodity. When the film is hot, the audience will come in but after the initial euphoria, the footfall might be impacted.”

Next, Shatrughan Sinha makes an entrance with his iconic “Khamosh” and shares a funny anecdote. Archana then asked Poonam, “Has Shatruji ever apologized to you after an argument?” Poonam laughs and replies, “You think he will ever apologize? Oh my God! That will be the day.” Shatrughan Sinha humorously responds, saying, “I feel like crying.”

When Kapil asked Poonam, “How will you score Shatrughan Sinha for being patient?”, Shatrughan confidently guesses, “100,” but Poonam gives him a “2.”

Shatrughan then jokes, “Kapil, I’ve been tolerating her for so many years, isn’t that being patient?” He continued, “Mujh jaisa Bhola Bhala, mujh jaisa shareef aadmi…” to which Poonam quickly interrupts and said, “Ask me?”

Ila Arun reveals she sees Meena Kumari in Vidya Balan; dedicates special section for latter in her autobiography Parde Ke Peechhey https://ift.tt/dMk5Jhs

The Mumbai LitFest witnessed a remarkable gathering of bibliophiles and literati for the highlight session titled "Celebrating Women: The Shashi Baliga Memorial Session — My Medley." The session featured an esteemed panel comprising Vidya Balan, Ila Arun, and Anjula Bedi. The focus of the conversation was Ila Arun’s much-anticipated autobiography, Parde Ke Peechhey.

The session took an intriguing turn when it was revealed that the autobiography includes a dedicated section on Vidya Balan. This revelation left the audience pleasantly surprised. An excerpt was read from the book where Ila Arun expressed her admiration for Vidya Balan, particularly highlighting her debut in Parineeta (2005).

In the excerpt, Ila Arun wrote: "I cannot forget how impressed I was when I saw Vidya in Parineeta. She was different from the other actresses who looked like models. She was a mature woman, having the beauty and elegance of the actresses of old times. She brought back the dignity of the original Parineeta, the beautiful Meena Kumari in the 1953 film. In fact, she seemed to represent the heroines of all eras of Hindi films. Her expressive face effortlessly spoke volumes. She looked like a Bengali too. Her eyes, her gestures, her body language, they were enough to convey her emotions without the need for words."

Arun elaborated on her experiences working with Vidya Balan, noting her transformation on set and her remarkable talent. She wrote: “I got to know her well and on the sets, I got to see how talented she is and how she transforms herself the moment the camera is on her. In Begum Jaan, she was too young to be the madam of a kotha. Shabana had done a similar role in Mandi and she looked the part because she was a seasoned actress. She had even put on weight for the role but for Vidya, it was a great responsibility to take on a role like this at such a young age. I told her that I saw Meena Kumari in her and that she should do Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam 1962, which was released originally. She would be perfect for the role. She had the emotional strength to express her pain and her desire, the loneliness of a dejected woman. I also told her that she was the right actress to do a biopic of Meena Kumari."

The beautiful and enriching session concluded with Ila Arun's song as she danced to it and Vidya Balan joined her on the stage.

Trade experts predict lifetime collections of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: "BB3 can go beyond 275 crores with an open run until December 5" https://ift.tt/y7l2FgC

The Diwali releases – Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – are running successfully in cinemas for more than two weeks. We spoke to trade experts to find out more about it.

When asked about where these films would go from here on and the lifetime earnings, trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has clearly raced ahead of Singham Again, especially if you look at the second-week trend. That is because of the acceptability, the music, casting and the horror-comedy genre. There was a lot of fresh appeal. It balances all the factors beautifully, be it horror, comedy, cast, music etc. and it comes out as a very good package. Hence, it has found acceptance from families and kids.”

As for lifetime collections, he said, “It’s a bit too early. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 can touch 275 crores. It can go beyond that as well. It has an open run until December 5 and the new releases are not looking favourable. Unless Karan Arjun manages to attract the audience in hordes as it’s a pure masala entertainer.”

Trade analyst Atul Mohan agreed, “With no major release, by default, both films will have a run until the release of Pushpa 2 on December 5. Both might reach Rs. 250 crores slowly and steadily.”

He also felt that one can’t underestimate the re-release of Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan starrer Karan Arjun, “You never know. It’s a big film. The new generation has not seen it in cinemas. Although I have seen it in cinemas 2-3 times, I still want to see it. Hence, it may surprise.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, opined, “Singham Again has not met the expectations. The cost of course was high but the kind of cast it had, much more was expected from the film. So, it failed to deliver in terms of the content. On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 can cross the Rs. 250 crores mark.”

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi stated, “With Kanguva not having done as much as we were hoping for, both the films will have long legs and have the potential to go past the Rs. 250 crores mark.”

EXCLUSIVE: No premiere for re-release of Karan Arjun; Rakesh Roshan reveals how the Khudgarz experience put him off premieres completely: "Main picture bhi dikhau, daaru bhi pilaau aur burai bhi sunu" https://ift.tt/kEs9xRM

One of the most loved films of Indian cinema, Karan Arjun (1995), is all set to re-release on November 22 this year. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, the Rakesh Roshan directorial will have the biggest re-release worldwide for a Hindi film. Those expecting a re-release premiere and coming together of Shah Rukh, Salman, Kajol, Ashok Saraf, Johny Lever, etc. on November 20 or 21 would be dejected. There are no such plans.

In fact, this writer extensively scanned the internet and couldn’t find a single picture or video of the premiere of Karan Arjun. During an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Rakesh Roshan explained why he never holds a premiere for his films.

Rakesh Roshan said, “I had kept a premiere of my directorial debut, Khudgarz (1987). It was held in Metro Cinema, Mumbai and then the party was held at the Taj Mahal Hotel. The attendees of the party were badmouthing the film. I thought to myself, ‘Main picture bhi dikhau, khana bhi khilau, daaru bhi pilaau aur burai bhi sunu’. I vowed that I’d never have the premiere of any of my forthcoming films. I kept my word.”

Respecting his vow, no film premiere was held of Karan Arjun or for that matter, his other directorial ventures after Khudgarz like Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Kala Bazaar (1989), Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Khel (1992), King Uncle (1993), Koyla (1997), Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000), Koi Mil Gaya (2003), Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013).

He added, “Rekha requested me repeatedly to keep the premiere of Khoon Bhari Maang. But I was clear that I wouldn’t be able to do so.”

Talking about re-releasing Karan Arjun, Rakesh Roshan said, “The sound was in mono. I had to convert it to Dolby 5.1. I did the whole DI of the film, so that visually, it looks new. As for publicity, I followed the same strategy which I applied back then. I made posters and for single screens, I made six sheeters. In multiplexes, I put up backlit cutouts and standees. In short, aaj ka aur purane zamaane ke strategies ko mix karke I planned the publicity!”

John Abraham’s Goa Aces triumph in IRL 2024; Alibhai crowned F4 Champion https://ift.tt/VdeQHv1

The 2024 Indian Racing League (IRL) ended thrillingly as John Abraham’s Goa Aces secured the championship with a stellar performance at the Kari Motor Speedway. Raoul Hyman and Gabriela Jilkova delivered a 1-2 finish on the final day, sealing the title for their team dramatically. Adding to their triumph, Goa Aces also claimed the car championship, achieving a remarkable double.

Final Race Drama Heading into the final race, Goa Aces led the Shrachi Rarh Royal Bengal Tigers by just two points. However, the Tigers' hopes were dashed within moments of the race starting. A dramatic crash involving Ruhaan Alva (Royal Bengal Tigers) and Akash Gowda (Speed Demons Delhi) saw both drivers retire early, allowing Goa Aces to dominate.

Hyman and Jilkova maintained their composure, cruising to a decisive victory. Hyman crossed the finish line 28 seconds ahead of his teammate, while Mohd Ryan (Chennai Turbo Riders) secured third place. “We’re thrilled with the 1-2 finish and the championship win. It’s a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication,” said Hyman. Formula 4: Aqil Alibhai Crowned Champion In the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship, Hyderabad Blackbird’s Aqil Alibhai clinched the title despite a strong late charge from Bengaluru’s Ruhaan Alva. Alva won both of Sunday’s races with aggressive drives but fell short in the overall standings, finishing second behind Alibhai.

Alibhai, who dominated much of the season with six wins, played strategically in the final races. His P2 and P3 finishes were enough to secure the championship with a comfortable 29-point lead. “I wanted to end with a win, but I’m thrilled to take the championship title. This season has been a tremendous learning experience,” said the 18-year-old South African. A Milestone for Indian Motorsport The 2024 IRL and F4 Indian Championship showcased an exhilarating level of competition, providing a platform for Indian drivers to compete at higher levels. The season’s affordable and competitive setup has set the stage for nurturing future motorsport talents in India.

Karan Arjun revolves around the concept of reincarnation where a scorned mother, who witnesses the brutal demise of her sons by her brother-in-law and his goon partners, pleads to the Lord to return them to her to avenge the injustice. As her sons return in a new modern avatar of Ajay and Vijay, they spark a new revolution of revenge and bloodshed by destroying every aspect of their enemy Thakur Sangram Singh professionally and personally.

Coming from a middle-class background, when you become a public figure, you just think you need to give your 100% to your profession. Your personal life takes a backseat. But striking a balance is very important for family and relationships. I understood this very early on. I lost my mind after my first film.”

His breakout role in Vicky Donor not only earned him critical acclaim but also turned him into a household name almost overnight. The actor admitted that the sudden fame led to a loss of focus, putting a strain on his personal life. Tahira Kashyap: The Anchor in Ayushmann's Life Despite the challenges fame presented, Ayushmann Khurrana is quick to credit his wife, Tahira Kashyap, for keeping him grounded.
